Cellular Jail: Port Blair

I had visited Port Blair sometime back but it is only now that I have managed to dig out some interesting photos of that trip. The Cellular Jail is a very impressive if monotonous building architecturally but historically its importance can not be underestimated. A section of the Jail is remarkably preserved. However, the piece de resistance remains the emotional and impressive Sound and Light show at dusk.

Thanks for sharing these lovely pictures. Port Blair is famous for being a significant base for the Indian Coast Guard, Indian Navy and the headquarters for the Tri-Services Command. The township is known for its picturesque beauty and relaxed ambience. Water sports such as snorkelling are a major attraction for a large number of tourists. It is also famous for its nearby attractions like Barren Islands, Corbyn’s Cove and Ross Island. Explore Port Blair tourism also.
